Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Mitel 3300 and OCS 2007 Integration I am currently trying to enable some Enterprise Voice for my OCS users and I am at somewhat of a loss when trying to figure out what I need to configure on the Mitel side of things. What I have right now is this: 1. Configure a Network Element Assignment to point to the mediation Server 2. Create a SIP Peer Profile using that Network Element 3. Assign that SIP Peer some trunks or trunk licenses (I'm not too clear here) 4. ???????? 5. Talk on the phone I know, also, that I have to have the OCS SIP URI's in E.164 format, but I am not sure how to make the Mitel KNOW that it's E.164 and either strip the digits or what. I have found how to do it on a number of smaller gateways, but I don't even know if this is something that i need to be concerned about. Any help, either better steps or validation that I'm on the right path would be welcomed! Thanks, Tim

Location: READING Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Tim This may or may not be helpful... but i'm in the same boat as you. Is your mitel on the latest software version? ... I think it has to be at least "Release 8.0 UR1". That's what we're using, anyway. (we've got it working with Exchange 2k7 UM )Thanks, Thad

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Software Version We're using 7.1 UR2, which is the minimum that's required according to the documentation. We are set up with Exchange UM, and that part of it works great, but I really want to get outbound calling enabled from an OCS endpoint.

Location: READING Rep Power: 0 ![]() | It sounds like you're doing exactly what i'm doing! (not that i've got it working, you understand!) I can get OCS to send SIP "stuff" to the Mitel but when i trace in Ethereal I can see that the mediation server receives a "SIP/2.0 404 Not Found" from the Mitel's address. I pretty sure it's a mitel config problem and not OCS. Also, can you "Play On Phone" using Exchange 2k7? That doesn't work for me. Using Exchange, I have managed to get a Mitel phone to ring but when i answer I can't hear anything. btw - What does your next-hop connections page look like on the OCS Med. ? Thanks, Thad [EDIT] ps... Our Mitel listens (TCP) on Port 5070, which I wasn't expecting. You might want to check that in "System IP Port Assignment" Last edited by TUKTTL : 01-18-2008 at 05:10 AM.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Yeah, the problem is on the Mitel, I'm sure. What is happening is that the Mitel is getting the SIP request but doesn't know what to do with it. If I was using SIP trunking with my ISP or phone company, I'm sure that I could figure out how to just forward the request, but since I want the Mitel to do the conversion from SIP to PSTN, I'm at a loss. We did have the Exchange UM working with the play-on-phone but that's currently broken due to some other cert issues. It looks like Outlook can't talk to the UM server correctly because it is resolving the autodiscover service to an ip with a cert that doesn't match the names correctly. We have Exchange UM up an working fine with the Mitel but I need to get the mediation server to be routing calls before I tie UM and OCS into UC (:

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hey stumbled on your post while searching for something else related to Ocs and Mitel. Anyway just thought I'd note that from my experience the "SIP/2.0 404 Not Found" error you receive when trying to call from communicator to a phone on the mitel system is normally a result of not having correctly configured your SIP Peer profile assignment by incoming DID form on your 3300. You need to associate the incoming DID numbers on your mitel system with the SIP trunk connected to your OCS. For example if your extension range on the Mitel system is 200-300 you need to assign this range to the SIP trunk connected to OCS so your 3300 knows to accept incoming calls for these numbers on that sip trunk. Do the same for external numbers you want to be able to call out to from OCS. Hope that helps.
