Trunks/NSU's - Incomming and Outgoing Config

Hi,

We have 2 x ISDN30 circuits (Q931) with 2 NSU's and a Mitel 3300

1 circuit is on 1 NSU and the other circuit is on the 2nd NSU.

The 1st NSU is for incomming and the 2nd is the Outgoing.

We have asked our carrier to add routing so that when the 1st circuit goes down which is our incomming trunks that it is routed through our 2nd circuit so that incomming calls through the 2nd circuit.

They have set this up but say our equipment is refusing the calls. I suspect it is to do with something on the 2nd NSU saying that it only outgoing.

Where can I look to change this so it accepts it as both incomming and outgoing?

If this is not possible how easy is it to change from Outgoing to Incomming on the 2nd NSU?

Thanks in advanced.

Marc

I would imagine that tou need to set up the trunk service assignment's the same as you are possibly absorbing/inserting digits on the incomming circuit and your outgoing circuit isnt set to absorb/insert the same therfore the terminating numbers for the ddi dont exist.

Hope this helps

Use the IMAT software and check the D-channel config on the NSU.

I really think you need to go down the path Bob suggested, if the cct is ok to make outgoing calls already the D channel should be fine, copy over your trunkservice with regards to digit modification (insertaion/deletion) may need to run a CCS trace to double check that the call [i]is[i] actually hitting the system
