T1 or IP Integration from 3300 to 6510?

I need to upgrade our 6510 VM server but I am talking to people who are recommending going IP between the 3300 and the 6510. Wondering what others are recommending and why?

Also, wanted to know the main differences with 6510 ver 1.5 vs 2.0 and if I should upgrade that as well.

thanks,
Phone_Lady

We are T1 integrated and once in a while there are ports hung (waiting for off hook signals). The oncly solution is to reboot the PC. I also tried IP integration and it's a lot easier and I think that the ports down will be no longer a problem. We had to go T1 because it's integrated on a SX2000!
Let me know if you want the differences on version 2.0 and 1.5! We are running on 1.5 and I'm realy looking forward on version 2. We'll install it in september.
I'll post another message on differences!

we had the hanging ports issue when we first installed the 6510. They would hang when doing a trombone transfer. It has since been corrected but I forgot which solution corrected the problem (they suggested and tried so many things).

Here is the differences of ver 1.5 to 2.0 from a salesman's point of view. optional Speech-enabled personal contacts: allows users to speak the name of the person they want to contact, and the system rings the appropriate extension
    • optional Location-based design and location calendar: allows users to route calls based on the time of day/week, availability, or call ID
    • optional outbound desktop soft fax
    • increased port capacities and integration
    • Enhanced security
    • Find me, follow me: users can define their cell number as first number and can add their office number and any other number, so the voicemail will call accordingly (cascading).
I wanted to find out if there are fixes for problems in 1.5 that we should be aware of. It would help in convincing management to purchase the upgrade.

If you plan to purchase later in September then I'll let you know if it solved any issues that I don't think of right now...
