Worst Case Scenario!

I was blessed with a dead PBX at a location when I came into work Monday morning. It's a Mitel SX-2000 Light. The hard drive was dead. I replaced the hard drive with one out of a spare PBX. When I was formating the hard drive to restore off the RSD, the power was interupted.

In all the information and technician's handbooks I can find, everything assumes you either have or bought a hard drive with software on it. The software on mine is currupt. I have about 10 other funcitioning cabinets. Any suggestions? If I could find a way to break the boot process or boot off the RSD, I would be golden. Any suggestions?!?!

Have an entire school breathing frustrated with me isn't helping.

what manual / version do you have? all the technician handbooks that i have tell you to insert the software rsd and reboot the system then format the hard disk. In the uk hard disks dont come pre loaded with software this must be done manually

If you look under the section for 'replacing a faulty hard disk' this should give you a step by step guide how to load software and database.

Send a message via MSN to funkymonkeyfc
As per Bobs notes, insert the s/w RSD and boot from there, format HD and follow the little Mitel bible.

I can't figure out how to get the PBX to boot off of the RSD. I changed the SCSI ID on the MO drive to 0 with no avail. Is there a different MO disk I need to use, besides the one provided by Mitel? Should the box automatically boot from the RSD when it can't find an OS on the HDD?

all you should need to do is to insert the software rsd into the RSD drive and reset the system and it should boot from the rsd. Maybe there is a problem with your RSD Drive. Try powering down the system, disconnecting the rsd drive and reconnecting it and rebooting the system. I have had some problems with RSD drives in the past and a complete reboot normaly sorts them out.
