Mitel Sx2000

Hi All

I was working on an Sx2000 the other day that had some adsl kit attached through the same wiring, there were a number of bizarre faults like the asdl kit locking out extensions and so on, i dissed their kit off and dial tone was fine however if a filter is introduced between the phone and lju it won't allow me to break dia tone?

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I have work on sites like this in the past where the hotel had given permission for a 3rd party to install dsl in the bedrooms using the internal telecoms wiring and this caused no end of problems (this site had an sx2000 also) in the end we took the stance after several visits that this was an infringement of the customers maintenance agreement and had to be moved onto separate wiring. At this site there was an adsl modem connected to the filter which had a port for the ext if this is the case for you did you try plugging the phone into this to see what happened?

Late addition ....

remember one little thing of importance ... the ONS (16-port analog) station card for the sx2000 (& mn3300) systems is 'only' a 24Vdc circuit. Your filter is most likely the CO version which (if I read you correctly) is meant for 48Vdc circuits. This could be a large factor in what is happening with your configuration. Not certain ... but a thought to ponder, ?maybe?

Yes. -48Vdc. Plus the lightning protection circuitry may add additonal isolation from the filter as well ?!?
