Location: San Simeon Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I know there are already lot of topic about this subject, I have sx 200 which the password was changed to something else about 5 to 7 years ago. I don't want to send 3 to 400 dollars for 4 to 10 digit number, so I was wondering is there any software that I can hook up my computer to sx and change the password. Any help would be appreciated. If you have the s/w reboot from the disk/tape. Then go about doing a data restore if you current back ups are up tp date (which is doubtfull if you have no record of the password but it is also doubtfull the programming has changed) like i said this may or may not work, hopefully somebody with 200 expeience will correct me

The person who did the programming didn't left the new password ( don't know if he access the the sx200 remotely and change the password. He's gone nowhere to be found, so I am hanging between total reprogramming or call mitel and restore the password. P.S. Mitel said something about the licencing fee, which will come out to AROUND $1000.00 with the password reset. Does anyone has any clue to this.

Location: Kitchener, Ontario Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Two things ... 1. Mitel software encompasses the security module and the operating version installed to the system. EULA is the term. It is no different from any other software you would be expected to purchase. If you truly read your EULA on any product, windows for instance, you will discover that you actually have purchased 'the right to use' only. All telecommunications systems are not transferrable under their respective EULA's. So Mitel, as would Nortel, simply wants you to pay their EULA fee plus their fee to default the password. 2. Passwords are alphanumeric on the sx200. So unless you are certain the machine is a 4 digit passcode, you could be here a long time trying to decipher access. I have witnessed a hacking of sorts against a system, but this was lengthy and moreover by someone who knew the previous mindset. You could end up deciphering a 10 character alpha-numeric code, yikes! To simplify your plight you should pay the piper. Legally it is sound and leaves this forum to its intended integrity.
