Question Chip and Pin Credit Card Machines

Has anyone here witnessed problems with chip& pin credit card systems working Mitel systems? It seems like an intermittant problem where the machines simply work fine for hours/days/weeks then stop. We then move the machine to another line/port and teh machine works we then try a good machine in what seems to be a possibly bad line/port and it works fine?????????? we have seen this on various systems - 3300, sx2000, imagination etc.

Have any of you guys seen this or know any tricks to make the devices operate normally?

On the Imagination you can use TWIF to set to fax and long to up the gain, also as discussed OPS etc as the machines appear to be Voltage sensitive.

i have investigated this issue for a year or so.

its not just with the mitel switch but many others some of the chip and pin machines are designed abroad and only tested on direct lines.

its a voltage issue compatability

a dirct line works on 45v but an analogue ext on most systems is around 20v....this is the problem and the manufactures state in the handbook there is no guarante that it will work on pabx.

to keep customers happy use a dircet line
