| Need some T-1 advice... Has anyone working with either Definity or Intuity equipment used a communications program other then ASA or ProComm (another choice DYNACOMM from Futuresoft. It has an add-on for 4425 emulation) to dial into said equipment? I have no access to TerraNova [ATE] and don't even know if that will run on Windows-NT machines. If TerraNova does run on Windows-NT machines does anyone know where it can be found? I am used to working with WRQ Reflections 4 which can do all the "VT" emulation’s VT52, VT100, VT102, VT220. Plus WYSE50+ and WYSE60 (nice for CMS). I find WRQ Reflections scripting much more powerful then ProComm's. I have been able to connect with Definity machines setting Reflections as a VT102 and telling Definity it's a 513 terminal. In this case everything seems to work; cursor positions, drawing of the screen; except when performing a "cha vec 2". I can not find the escape sequence required to send to the Definity to emulate the 513 F6 key so I can Delete or Insert Vector lines. This is my major hang up. Accessing a Definity or Intuity using VT emulation and telling the Definity or Intuity box you are a 44xx terminal results in unusable cursor positioning and over written screen text. I considered changing over to ProComm however a great deal of time and effort has been placed into the Reflection project with embedded database and support for Avaya Definity & Intuity, Meridian SL-1 & Mail, Octel, CMS, Nortel SL-100 and Unix type systems. Also effort has been placed to the PC's internal as well as server based modem pools can be used. I have also read on Symantec's WEB site that ProComm is NOT supported under Windows XP? When starting ProComm and running a "was" file I have not been able to find the commands to tell ProComm what PC COM port to use from within the "was" file or from within the same "was" file to use a Telnet session? DYNACOMM is Windows XP compatible but would require starting from the ground up abandoning all previous work, plus spending many $$ to replace existing software. You may ask why don't I use ASA? There are several reasons; 1) can't share database unless other PC's are the exact same, modem type and COM port minimum. 2) ASA can't be scripted to get through various secure or port selector type modems. 3) ASA doesn’t work well with Nortel SL-100. From a support stand point to access multi vendor equipment the best “single” solution I have come up with is WRQ Reflections 4. Except for that apparent one problem "the Edit key" F6 when performing a cha vec 2 in Definity switches. Perhaps someone knows a control key sequence or escape sequence that could be used when telling the Definity switch the terminal is a 513? Any help is these matters would be appreciated. Thanks - Ken | ||||||||

Location: Dorchester, Ontario Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Blocking certain callers We use ASA and Procomm here. For Procomm, we just configure our dictionary (phone book) to the exact emulation com port etc, then if we need too, we then create a WAS/WAX file to script any of our logon's. What kind of functionality did you need? Barry | ||||||||
