Avaya newbie, I need to set up speed dial on for a 8410D????

I maintain 2 separate Octel servers. A 250 with software release 3.1 and a 350 with the same release. Menu 13.5 allows me to turn message waiting indicators on with no problem on the 350, but on the 250 I get a prompt that says mwi must be turned off. I can get no further that that. Is there a way I cvan eitther get around that or manually turn the mwi's off??

Worked like a champ

you may be able to accomplish this through the PBX system (depending on what PBX your using) in the Avaya deffinity world the command is "Clear amw all XXXX" where XXXX is the extension number you are trying to turn off.

If the Octel is telling you you must turn the light off first you can go to menu 20 and then 9 and then type in reformat and go to the att message waiting utils and turn the lights off but you need the service bit on for that and you don't want to do it with any traffice on the system at all or message waiting will stop working for anyone in there mailbox at that time
