I am trying to connect to a Octel 250, I can hear the modem syncronization but procom never ask me to enter the password.

Does anybody know how to check the serial port settings on the Octel ? I have soebody on site who can help me to check this.

Also I have tried restarting the modem but the same thing.

Another question : Does anybody know how to remove the fax feature from the Octel ?

Best Regards.

Dialogic/CISCO with AVAYA

Assuming the modem has worked and has been set up with the proper configuration and dip switch settings. If modem unconfigured see Installation and Maint. manual for modem setup.
If the modem is answering but you never get any prompting on your screen, I usually will try hitting cntl c or F12 first. If no response, check connection settings. 8-N-1 with a WYSE 50 emulation is normal for the 250. If still no connectivity, move cable from modem to console connection on the CCF card.
If the system is down or has been shutoff for a long period of time (more than 24 hrs)
you may be connected but the VM is waiting. The 250 has an annoying engineering quirk where it will not completely restart after extended power down times until the time/date has been restored. Dial in as normal. When the modem is connected and at a point were you would normally get a password prompt, reboot the system. After a minute or so you should begin to see the boot process roll across your screen. The boot process will stop and the system will prompt you for the date/time. Enter these and the system will finish the boot and come online. It will also take you to the login screen.
