Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Folks, I was wondering how the folks in the US were compliying with Sarbanes-Oxley and e-discovery from a voice mail retention perspective. Our current practice is save messages 10 days and let the Audix overwrite it. This practice has been in place more then 10 years (supported by the system setings), and is being codified into a written policy by the legal department. How does your site deal with SOX-e-discovery complaince on the telephony side?

Location: San Diego, CA Rep Power: 5 ![]() | On the Intuity, voice mail is very difficult to save for any extended period of time. Each user has a delete key (*d) and if the recipient chooses to delete a message it is gone. There is no recovery. There is a log that shows a message was received, listened to and then deleted, but that is all. You also have finite resources in the computer both in disk size and in the number of subscribers you are allowed. If someone leaves and you do not remove them from the Intuity, eventually you will not be able to add anybody new. The messages themselves are not backed up in any way because that function is not part of the Intuity. Bottom line, my employer does not do anything with voice mail. Email yes, voice mail no. __________________ Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup. Marty
