Dial 9 Pool with Individual Line Buttons Merlin Legend

I am new to Merlin Legend programming so this is probably a dumb question. I have 4 CO lines on the system and want to have individual line buttons on the 10D phones as well as the ability to dial 9 for an outside line. I was able to get the dial 9 to work with line pools but when I put the lines in pool 70, when I try to put the line buttons on the phones, it adds a single group button rather than the individual lines. What's the easiest way to do this?

Thanks
Kirk

I will have to do some digging around. I have heard that adding lines to pools may be a bit cumbersome.

Given that you have only 4 POTs lines, would it be possible to simply run the system in Key Mode as opposed to PBX Mode?

key mode vs pbx mode

I do have a merlin mail (external unit) system attached. For some reason, I was thinking it had to be in pbx mode for it to work. We had the merlin mail extensions in a pool which, from my understanding, is not available in key mode. I am assuming this is wrong. What's the easiest way to go about getting the mail to work in key mode?

When it comes to the Merlin Messaging voicemail system, the ports that the voicemail system is connected to need to be in a Calling Group and set up as Integrated VMI and Linear Hunt.

In Key Mode, if you want the voicemail to answer immediately you would assign lines to the voicemail's Calling Group. If you want a delayed answer (to give a someone a chance to answer incoming calls for instance), you would assign telephone lines to another Calling Group and have them overflow to the voicemail's Calling Group and also build a mailbox in the Merlin Messaging with a "Class of Service" of 15.
