Max value for ACD DN.

Can someone tell me if the Tandberg TDC4220 or the Archive Viper 2150es are the only tape drives that can be used with the Option 11 voice mail for backup? If not please recommed another. Also a good source to purchase one of these would be appreciated.

Also, am I correct in that I have to have the install tape with a serial number that matches the vm serial number in order to get to the upgrade menu? Somehow the SN on the vm system does not match the sn on the tape, nor does the key code match.

Thanks for you help
Kenny

An install tape from another machine is ok as long as it is for the correct software release and for an Option 11. You can't use an install tape for a large system on the Opt11.
Somewhere in the General Release Bulletin (hopefully you have one) you can confirm that the part number on the tape is the one for Opt11.

One thing I heard you say is that the MM keycode does not match the serial #?

You can install it, but unless the keycode matches the Opt11 serial #. It wont fully boot up, it will do a foxcheck through the PBX and stop.

I was under the impression that the key code may not match what is in the switch because of upgrades and such if the tech didnt put the now software info in the tape case. In this case I have a new key code to unlock 4 more ports.
Am I not correct in this assumption?
Will it be possible to go ahead with the upgrade as long as the software has the same options as what is in the mm now even though the serial numbers dont Match?
thanks
Kenny

Companion

Are you trying to add ports only to a MM card option ( option 11) ?
If so, do you have the old keycode? compare the info from the old keycode to the new Mermial keycode. If they match, your okay, if not, you will have problems.
The Option 11 mermail ( card option) will do a fox security check during bootup.
It is one of the reasons they take FOREVER to boot back up. In this security check, it verifys the serial number. If it matches, it will finish booting up and come up to a login screen.
