Can sets that continually disable be repaired? or do they need to be garbaged! This set has disabled three timed in as many weeks!
While we have access to ld 32 to re-enable it becomes a real nuisance to the user. Our service provider has advised they have uploaded firmware three which is supposed to solve the problem. Anybody else experience this problem and if so how have you resolved it?

3900 sets disable

Alison,
Does it happen during the day or after midnight routine?
Do the phones become unpluged and then after midnight routines become DISU?

I think the firmware update is a good idea.

It occurs after the midnight routine. The phones have not been unplugged.

I HAVEN'T SEEN TO MUCH ON THE FORUMS ABOUT IT BUT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED

Is the firmware on the phone match what is on the switch? Sometimes this is the problem or could be a bad channel. Move it to another TN and see if the problem follows it.

May also consider checking the quality/length of the line all the way from the switch to the phone. Specs are in the NTP but are definitely tighter for a digital set compared to an analog set.

I agree with ycoder, just swap that phone with another in the same area (preferably with the same firmware). See if the problem follows the phone or stays with the cable.

I had that same problem. It turned out it was the cable pair. It would disable and sometimes when I re-enabled it, it would not come back. I always do a quick IDU in 32 to see if the switch sees the phone.

A friend has a site where several or up to dozens (60+ one time) of 3904's will disable in the midnights and will not work by simply enabling. He has to re-cut the cross-connnect for sets to pass and IDU and work.

1st it seemed to be isolated to just one loop but has now shown up in other loops.

RE:

Anyone find an answer to this problem.

All our 3900's disabled during midnights last night. No other phones were affected. We are on Succession 3.0 with Fiji and all these phones ran fine for over a year on 25.40.

Our 61C is on 25.40, all phones are 3900's and has not had any problem.
