If I connect a music source to the trunk member TN's of a RAN route, will the music be broadcast?

the reason I ask is because, I want music to play for people waiting in queue on ACD's. In the ACD I set MURT to music route 66, and dialing the ACOD outputs music, but callers get ring-back tone until answered, I think it is because I have nothing for FRRT. Below is a print out of one of my ACD's.

I'd say yes. For FRRT put in 66 and then customer's should get MUS or MOH, music on hold.

A RAN device can be used to play Music, but a RAN route can not.

You would have to have a First Ran to put callers in queue first, then assign a Music Route to play Music to callers on hold. They will never hear music until the First Ran is played.

Assigning the First Ran Route to play music would not be the way to go. The first caller would be the only one hearing the music until the end of the Music then the second caller would be let in.

I have a couple of places where the customers upfronted their ACD with a bling AA and didn't want the first RAN playing before the propaganda on hold came on. As a quick and dirty solution we just recorded 1 second of silence on their RAN machine and walked away, been there for 2 years and you can't tell it's hitting the RAN first.

I'm pretty sure there is some evil programming trickery that can be done to make it work better but I haven't had time to play with it.

Slag, recording dead air for a second is a good idea, but we do not have interailia or anything comporable at this site. If I remember correctly, I once tried programming the music route under FRRT and I got a SCH code.

Is there no way to give music treatment to an ACD without a RAN machine?

I haven't heard of one yet, with $10 a visit to your local electronics store some electrical knowledge and a few beers you could probably build a device that would simulate the signalling a RAN machine gives...

But you didn't read that on here....
