Has anyone heard of any issues with using a DMID (FLT-N cards on Octel) integration in conjunction with Qsig? A friend of mine mentioned a problem he was having trying to send MWI notification across the QSIG pipes to an IPC system. Supposedly IPC has an engineering bulletin in regards to this. I did not think it would be an issue since MWI is easily piped across PRI's. Thought the feature would be easily ported to QSIG.

Thanks

QSIG and Octel DMID integration compatibility

I asked too quick. Found a solution on the NN website. One of the "Design Intent" replies. The solution indicates that QSIG is not compatible with integrations using MIK / MCK for setting and clearing MWI. Solution is to install a MerMail or Call Pilot. So much for QSIG opening the doors to multi vendor interoperability.

Too bad the M1 can't do an SMDI integration, there wouldn't be an issue then.

Actually this will work if configured correctly under the proper topology and the proper RCAP settings on the DCH.

Does the PINX DN of the local Meridian node need to be reflected in the Octel? (or CallPilot for that matter) The reason I ask is that I was reading the following in the NTP's and it seems to indicate that this is the case. It also references a message center PINX, which I would assume would be the pilot number for the Octel (or CallPilot)?

DOC 533-3001-380 Standard 1.0 October 2003
Page1354

The MWI is transported in the following manner:
1. A Meridian Message Center (for example, CallPilot) sends an MWI
message to the Meridian Message Center Private Integrated Services
Network Exchange (PINX) that an unheard VoiceMail message exists
for a user. The user is located in a different multi-vendor Private
Integrated Services Network (PISN).

2. The Message Center PINX telephones up a connection to the
multi-vendor Message Center PINX, possibly through one or more
transit PINXs.

-Thanks!
