Call Pilot IVR Routing

Hello all, got a couple of questions all regarding the VMB prompt when building a new set.

1. Supposedly if you fill in a mailbox number for that prompt, it will build the mailbox for you in Mermail. Does the PBX also keep a record of this so that you can easily see which phones have voicemail boxes associated with them from the VMB prompt? (I believe the answer is "NO" but I have people asking me to make sure)

2. Does the VMB prompt also work with Call Pilot?

3. Is there a way to tell Call Pilot and/or Meridian Mail to build up a mailbox for every extension in the PBX that is already set to hunt/forward to voicemail?

These are all in regards to disaster recovery purposes in the situations without voicemail backups. I would think that it would be a nice feature to tell the voicemail "Look at the PBX and find all phones that hunt/forward to voicemail, then build a mailbox for each of them using the DN/CPND information using a template" or something like that. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Arch

We have never used the VMB prompt in the PBX due to data corruption. If you build from the PBX and make changes via MerMail it did ugly things. We only administer MerMail through MerMail and leave the PBX out of it altogether.

That's just my two cents.

Good to know. Personally, I've never seen it used at all. Unfortunately my lab PBX is down and I can't test it either.
