I´m testing a 3904 set regarding recording conversation.

Has anybody tried to connect the Meridian External Alerter and Recording Interface to a tape?????
I´ve been trying to connect a microcasette Pearlcorder ( OLYMPUS ) with a mono cable between the Interface and the recorder without any luck. I´ve also tried cassette tape no luck there either.

If you want to explore any alternatives, we have successfully inter-connected an Algo Auxbox - a CTI application - with an M3904. It records a phone call as a wav file into a PC with all the call display information, date and time. It is used in a staff scheduling function. The cost for the Auxbox was $622 CDN and we obtained it though our service provider. The Algo website is www.algosolutions.com.

Icy - Are you getting any output from the Alerter? It might be that the alerter isn't putting out any audio or that the level isn't high enough - in some cases, the recording device doesn't activate until a certian db level is reached.

You could try what I do...

I usually (and I've never used the Meridian External Alerter) is sacrafice a mono cable by breaking it out onto a screw terminal jack (red, white, black, etc on each screw terminal) - then I attach my trusty butt set across the terminals to listen for audio.
If I can't find a combination of terminals, 1K resistors, and grounds to get the audio across the butt set - then I usually move to another adapter or another recording interface.

Plus - I would think that the manufactuer of Meridian External Alerter would have suggested recording devices that work well with their product..

RE:

I've never used it on my AuxBox, but it also has an analog audio output (3.5mm jack) that you could run to a tape player.

In the US, I've purchased my USB AuxBox units through Graybar.
