We have a Qsig pipe up and running. IPC is telling us that D-channel needs to be on channel 16 . It seems to have defaulted to channnel 31. currently channel 1 thru 16 are up ...31 is the D-channel.( We can make calls across it ).If you program channel 17 on up the channel goes into lockout.

What's up with that?

Any help would be appreciated.

(seems like a Fletch question to me)

Thanks.

The DCH actually rides on TIMESLOT 16 on a PRI2 (E1) connection. The Meridian handles this automatically for you.

On a T1 TIMESLOT always equals the CHANNEL
On an E1 TIMESLOT always equals the CHANNEL for Ch 1 to 15

Based on the above, Ch 16 rides TIMESLOT 17
(The DCH is on 16 remember?)
Ch 17 rides TIMESLOT 18
etc.
etc.

Check the QCHID prompt setting to see if the setup messages are using CHANNEL or TIMESLOT as references. This is where your problem lies. Also remind the IPC guy that the DCH's must be mapped correctly now, because you are able to call on 1 to 16. They look at it in more of a raw format on their side.

I did months and months of integration testing with IPC and their Q.Sig. They are one of the cleanest integrations I have ever seen, and they have fantastic control over the PRI parameters on their side.

Have IPC refer to their document "Gen568d" for the latest configuration specifications. This will cover the IPC Alliance and the Meridian side.
