Octel Help

Hello all, It has been a while since I have posted on here and I hope all are doing well. I seem to be having a weird issue that I am hoping someone may have heard of or seen before. It seems that when a staff member of mine receives a call whether transfered or directly called to there ext, the overhead system that we have seems to pick up the call as well. Basically, you hear them saying hello on the overhead and potentially if they didn't catch it you would hear there enire convo on the overhead system. Has anyone encountered this problem ??

Thanks for the help in advance!

L

Does this only happen on incoming call or outbound as well?

This seems to happen to only three people and it seems to be only on inbound calls to my knowledge. The three people are the Customer Service Rep, Receptionist and our VP or Customer Service.

So they you believe this to be strictly a user caused problem and not system configuration problem from the switch?

This is not going to help, but one time I had a service call similar to this and I found
an old paging mic under the receptionist's desk that she accidentally stepped on and turned it on all of the time. She reported the problem with her phone as saying" the phone is broadcasting all of my conversations over the speaker system"

Calls myteriously going to overhead system.

I would ask the people involved what they did before they heard themselves on the page syatem. sound like a user problem to me or a prank.

Can you keep everyone on line and do a trace in LD80?

i would tend to think it is a user error if it was all the time i may want to investigate but i have had this happen from the console many times

Calls myteriously going to overhead system.

Is it possible that you have analog did's comming in and the paging circuit is "half tapped" or crossed with the page system? Is this a nortel? Try moving the page circuit to another universal trunk card, or replacing the universal trunk card. Is the problem intermittent or constant

The problem to me is very intermittent. I didn't even here the pages when it supposedly happened. The call was also not coming from a console but being transferred from a 2616 phone that have 2 ADM's attached to it. I asked if they had a adl programmed with the code to page and they all said no. We don't have any DID's anymore and even if we did we never had the paging system routed through it. It has only happened that one time that I am being told and we don't have any external mic's anywhere.

Thanks
