Location: Meechigan Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Call Pilot 150 and Call Center? Greetings wise Merdian folk, I am but a lowley Norstar/BCM tech, who can only perform simple MAC and IP Telephony programming on Meridians. I need some advice/help. One of our customers has campus Option 11, incoming calls route over 2 PRI's. The switch is connected to a standard, multi-zone PA system via trunk routes ( all call is "314"). The following was reported by reliable sources : "Mr. Y" called in (via PRI) to talk to"Ms. X". She has what I would call a "guest mailbox" (not associated with a set ).It is mailbox #81721. originationg phone is a 3904 (ext 81201). The operator hit "Transfer",81721,"Connect" and hung up, just like 5000 other times. Immediately after, the entire building, via the paging system, heard the destination mailboxes greeting, then a "click" (assuming that was Mr. Y hanging up and not leaving a message (lucky lucky lucky, picture Mr. Y leaving an "intimate" message or some such). Even realizing it was probably a fluke (system has been in 3+ years and this has never happened), we were called in to figure out what happened. I sat down at the console and made an hours worth of any kind of crazy, malicious fat fingering I could think of and could not recreate this. If it weren't for the possible high level of embarrassment (and ensuing legal claims) I'd politely tell them to "fugget aboutit". Does this make sense to anyone out there ? Any thoughts ? Thank You

Location: The other side of the Lake from work Rep Power: 11 ![]() | Crazy "Transfer and Page" My first thoughts, since you are unable to replicate the issue.... Could be a "hung" paging trunk.... If this was an operator console with trunk page capablities, could it be a stuck key or a port that stayed open just a bit to long, thus causing the issue? picture this: I'm at that console....I need to page you, so I dial the access code (or perhaps hit a button), but I get a call...I pick it up, it's Mr. Y...the rest follows your senario? Far fetched, sure, but a thought none the less.

Around here they try to page people in the building from the ploycom in the conference room and end up transfering the entire conference call to the paging system... pretty damn funny, usually when it happens they always want to know what happend yada yada yada and nobody cops to do anything.

Location: Meechigan Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Re: Opponents Take Swing At 'Three Strikes' Law Thanks to PG and slagburn, slagburn's post does raise questions for me, that may be obvious to you Meridian jockeys ; Can any phone "Conference in" or "Transfer" to a paging trunk ? Is it controlled by COS entries ? Would you call this a "Trunk to Trunk Transfer" and can the ability to do it be restricted ? I attempted to do such a thing when I was at the site and could not (Everytime I dialed the paging code (314) during a conference or transfer it would put the call on hold and connect me to the paging trunk). Was I "doing it wrong" ? I have read and reread the "Meridian 1 Software Feature Guide" and it does not seem to answer these questions. Any other docs I should check?

Location: The other side of the Lake from work Rep Power: 11 ![]() | the call WOULD get put on hold for the time until you hit Conference or transfer again.....then you would be connected to the paging with as if you were in a 3 way call. This is done so you can "announce" the caller before transfering... SO, in essence, you may have stumbled on the issue. If the caller was being transfered to a number SIMILAR (or containing) the 314 access code to paging, the attendent may have dialed the paging code by accident and hit transfer the second time as to NOT introduce the call..(bad customer severice, but happens often....) with out even realizing they had dialed the wrong number to transfer to until it was to late. (once a call has been transfered, it can't be pulled back, that I know of)

Location: Dayton, Ohio Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I had this problem from user who mis-dial on single line phone. At this site only the "0" should be overhaed paging. So I use TGAR's to fix it. Place a TGAR in the RDB and place the same TGAR on the phone that you do not want to allow access to the paging route.
