Rep Power: 6 ![]() | We have a user who wanted a side phone in her office that had appearances of her extensions. She would use it for calls where a few people in her office need to participate in a conference call without them all huddling around her desk phone. Below is the programming of each. There are two problems: 1) The mirrored lines on each phone can not be active at once. One freezes up if the other one is picked up. 2) If a call is made between the two phones, both on speaker, there is horrible screeching feedback. The phones are approximately 10 - 12 feet apart. Can anyone spot in this programming what might be causing these issues? Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Fake T-1 If I make the lines MCR/MCN, then both phones won't be able to be on the same call though, will they? What the user wants is basically a situation where the second phones acts as an extension phone in your home would. You could just pick up and punch in on the same line she's on on HER phone and you could all talk.

| Build an analog version of the # you want both sets to simultaniously be on. By doing that it will allow you to be on a call and the other set to pickup on that call. You shouldn't have to do any special programming to the analog set, or even have it hooked up. | ||||||||

No action is required by the users, the second set will automatically be allowed to pickup the active line. Not sure if this will solve the Feedback issue (never called the person next to me on the speaker phone).. If it doesn't - you may have to do something kinda 'funky'... Leave both sets with CLS of HFA - Turn one sets speaker volume all the way up (so that the room can hear the conversation) and turn the others speaker volume all the way down. If you still get feedback - then you will need to 'physically' disconnect one of the speakers..... Chas2002

Location: NORTEL - NJ Rep Power: 6 ![]() | The feedback does not come from 2 speakers, it comes from a speaker and an open mic. You will not be able to elimiate the feedback problem this way. POA in CLS is the proper way to get both phones off hook at the same time. The phone is not 'locked' or 'frozen' the way you have it now, the privacy feature of the switch is preventing someone from picking up th eother line.

Location: Michigan Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Helpful hints for end users Try looking into a feature called group listening, GRLA in the COS. It's availible on 3902, 03 and 04 phones. With GRLA the speaker is active but the mike is disabled. Once GRLA is allowed in the COS use the Option key on the 3900 set to turn Group Listening on. The people at the phone with GRLA can hear via the speaker but because the mike is disabled there should be no feedback. Frenche
