I need a refresher course on the way you create a new route in the switch.
Anyone have a quick breakdown on a new route? I believe this is going to be a TIE.
I’m not using a carrier, I just wasn’t to test some network things with the Network Group.

08/05/04 08:06 UPDATE: What is the hierarchy in creating a new route in a switch? What LD’s are used 1st, 2nd…..

Routes in LD 16
Trunks into Routes in LD 14

Before you start... pick a route number and ACOD that fits with the rest of the routes that are in your system.

I usually just dump a RDB from the switch that is working and similar to what my new route needs and build my new route the same, if need be you can go back and tweek it as needed.

MerMail Configuration needs cleaned up.

OK. I got the new route in but when I try to put in the members, LD 14, I cant put in the TN. I get a sch error SCH0120 "Wrong number of input fields for Prompt TN".

Am I missing a step?

If you are using say loop 20 you would enter the TN as 20 <space> 1. These should then auto populate to build all of your members.

R,
That's what I'm doing and it wont take it.
When I stat the TN in LD 32 it says UNEQ. Is that because nothing is assigned to it yet?

What type of route did you build and what type of TN are you trying to build?

For example if you are adding a T1, you cannot add the Channel TN's without defining the T1 loop in LD 17 first. If you adding POTS on a universal trunk card then you should be OK.

Fletch,
It's just a TIE route. Here's the deal:
The NOC wants me to add a "T-1" for testing of some of there equipment. I'm just TIEing their equiment to a route in the switch. I had not added the T1 in LD 17, that's what I thought I had to do first. It's all coming back to me now. Think that was a song.

Thank you,

John

Yes first you have to go into LD 17 and add the loop your planning to use to your CEQU. From there you would go into LD 16 build the route, then off to 14 for building the trunks

And don't forget to build your DCH, if you need one of those.
