PBX MOVE.

This past weekend my department moved a 4 column 81C from the basement of one building to the 5th floor of another building. Every precaution was taken and the system was/ has been running fine for years. When it was time to power it back up, to start with 5-CE power supplies did not come back. When it was all said and done 13 cards didn't come back. This list also included PE power supplies, Controller, Dual Loop PRI, Power monitor.
Come Monday all 1100 phones were check and working, all PRI's were up and working and there were only a handful of station troubles. Even though the end result was fine the hardward issues were unbelievable.

We also have a 4 column pbx option 81. I could never imagine removing it. We have 4 18 foot walls full of wiring blocks that go to all the different building on campus. I believe moving all the wiring would be more of a hassle.

Is this a DC system?

Did you turn the power switches off on the power supplies?

I've found those same power switches at the local electronics store for $.02 each... they're are the cheapest things the manufacturer could get their hands on and I've seen a lot of them fail in the field when someone turns them off.
