Hello,

I had a power hit last week and I thought that everything was up and fine, but apparently they are not. I have two superloops in the same shelf that are experiancing tone problems. All the cards look OK. The Controllers for both superloops are up and the Conf/TDS and Peripheral Signaling cards are enabled.

The specific problem is that on my digital phones (2016) I'm getting to dial tone. Call can be placed and rings on distant end, but no dial tone. On my analog sets, I have no ringing. And there is no dial tone.

Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.

Are any of the cards on your shelfs showing red lights? Did youre ring generators and digitone receivers come back up (is there a red light showing a problem)?

I would try DISL your loops. Then ENLL them back up.

Same problem?

No lights and I've tried disabling both loops, the conf/tds board, the peripheral signaling board and the card controllers for both superloops. As far as a ring generator, I have as yet to see one in the main switch. I know I have some in my remote modules, but none in the main.

Here's one for you golfers

What kind of switch and is it an Intelligent Peripheral Equipment or the old Peripheral Equipment shelfs? Normally the ring generator is right next to the power and the digitone receiver is in the last slot.

If this is an 11C the digitone generation is controlled by the Power supply card in the cabinet. You would need to replace the power supply card to clear up your analog issue.

Problem Solved. I'm using an 81C by the way. After the power hit that i had apparently during the initializing of my switch the DTR card in the affected cabinet never fully came up. A reset of the Conf/TDS board in conjunction with the DTR reset brought it all back up. Thanks for the Digitone Receiver direction HCJes. As far as my ring problem on analog phones....the idiots that installed my 81C never installed one. Up until now, I haven't had any analog phones running off the main switch. Only the remoted ones. Now I'm going to have to order a few. Thanks for all the guidance.

Glad to hear you straightened it out. I cannot believe a vendor didn't install a ring generator with conjunction of the analog cards.

This site is a great resource... keep it in your favorites.
