This is just a small paragragh "On some analog cards, the decoding algorithm depends on the type of CODEC (coder/decoder) installed when the board was built. On others, it is an option selected using a software overlay" Still really haven't found speed limitations, but this description is for the NT8D09 card.

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | pbxn: Thanks. I think that you are right. GEI is on to something. The remote unit sets the speed to auto connect with the switch module. The line to the switch module is an analog line off of my PBX. It won't connect to anything higher than 9600. If it is a matter of the line card then I can always change that out. The current cards are NT8D03AK (rls 01)TN range 11, NT8D09AK (rls 0 rlc

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Centrex functionality with VoIP Sorry, TN range 11 is an NT8D09AL. In my switches that work the part number is NT8D09AK rls. 8. So, that blows that mighty fine theory out of the water. SHOOT! Same equipment, Same programming, Same cards.... why the different treatment? Could there be an issue from a telco interferring? The person doing the dialing is in Maryland and the site that they are failing to reach is in Maryland. It is still long distance to call from Headquarters to the telephone center but, they are in the same state. Thoughts??? rlc

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Not the line cards. The docs show that the NT8D09 supports 56K modem activity. So, what would cause the POTS line to work but the analog line off of the PBX to fail. POTS connects at 19.2 and the PBX connects at 9.6 or 4.8. Could this be a setting on a DTR? If so, how would this be verified and changed? rlc

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Emergency Vmail Issue Okay, maybe this will ring a bell or three: Positions cabinet 0 SSC cabinet 1 Fbr rcvr 150 left left 300 left left 600 left left 1200 left left 2400 right left 4800 left left 9600 left right 19200 left left I can't find a SSC procedure on the Nortel sight. How do you and should you change the DIP settings on these cards? The answer lies within this little 11C. Any installers like to take a stab at this??? rlc

Location: Duvall, WA Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Which port are you trying to connect to? If it is port 0 it will be controlled by the dip switches on the front faceplate. Just set the 19.2 position on and all others off. If it is on another TTY port set that in the ADAN config as Chas suggested.

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | This isn't an SDI port at all. This is an analog line off of an NT8D09AL rls4 Message Waiting Analog Line Card. Instead of the line card allowing for 56K as it should, it appears that the speed of the Fiber Receiver Card is controlling the rate of the line card. In my earlier post it looks like the margins got jumbled. SSC is set to 2400, on this the SDI for MerMail is set for 2400. On the Fiber Rec. it is set at 9600 and this is where the MAX and whatnot are programmed. The analog cards are in this cabinet as well. I need to know the impact of changing the DIPs on an SSC and Fiber Rec. Any takers??? rlc

Location: Chicago -- CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE Rep Power: 12 ![]() | R, That particular card is at least two vintages back from the current card. While the OLD PB's for that card vintage paint a rosy picture, the improved codecs on the current vintage cards will serve you purposes better. There is also a recomendation "A card must be installed in the slot immediately to the right of the NT8D09BB when the NT8D09BB is installed in any slot other than slots 9 or 10." See PB 2003-0315-Americas for the details. The settings on the SSC card have nothing to do with modem connect speeds for 500 ports. Jack
