Hi All
FYI - I am a pbx tech. I recently upgraded an Opt 11C from 25.30 to 25.40b. I went to the Nortel website and downloaded the software and appropriate DEPLIST. With the other option switched (51-81c), I know how to load the list: ld 143 etc (upgraded an opt 81C this past thurs).
In looking for the procedure for the 11C, it mentions logging into pdt. How do I find out how to log into pdt in order to load these PEPs?
Thanks

Professional Service

You call your vendor and ask him to load the deplist.

Depending on the size of your organization there should be someone on the staff (usually a *cough cough* engineer) who has been through patch instertion via P D T training.

P D T is probably one of the best kept secrets of all time, about the only web resources on the subject are BB posts saying not to ask and call Nortel.

================================================== ================

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE CONTINUING

========================= TO INSTALL PEPs ========================

Prior to Installation the user must have opened the Zip File and
copied the content to a blank floppy disk for large systems or
pcmcia card for Opt11c which will be used in place of an mdcs disk.
Please take time to review the MPL Documentation and DepList Notes
for PEPs that you are installing on your system, so that you fully
understand them, prior to installation.

1. Complete the upgrade/installation and let the system run
midnight routines.

2. LD 22 and type ISS to find system CP type.
2111/2121 = 11C/CSE/SSC
1911 = 81/81C CP2
2211 = 51C CP2
2311 = 61C CP2
2411/2421 = 51C CP3
2511/2521 = 61C CP3
2611/2621 = 81C CP3
2811/2821 = 51C CP4
2911/2921 = 61C CP4
3011/3021 = 81C CP4
3311/3321 = 81C CPP

3. Ensure your installation disk contains PEPs of the same CPU
type as that of the target system. Also ensure that the
software version is the same as that of the target system.

4. Load Overlay 143 (LD 143)

5. Run the Installation Script by entering the following:

MDCS INSTALL <drive>

where <drive> is one of the following:
F0 - floppy drive 0
F1 - floppy drive 1
CD0 - CDROM drive 0 {could be used if necessary}
CD1 - CDROM drive 1 {could be used if necessary}
Enter one of the above depending on where the floppy disk
is inserted.

Example:
MDCS INSTALL F0

The install script will:
i) prompt for confirmation to continue,
ii) put out of service and remove from memory any PEPs
currently loaded on the system......and
iii) load and install all PEPs contained on the floppy disk.

6. Exit Overlay 143

7. Load Overlay 22
REQ ISSP - any DepList PEPs will be printed.

8. Remove the floppy disk.

9. Site specific patches may now be re-installed (if applicable).

In an Option 11C you do need to use PDT to load the deplist. LD 143 only works in the other Options.

gei is right, if you are the vendor and do not know how or no one else in your company knows how, its time to call Nortel.
