Hello All - could anyone shed any light on what is required to place an Option 11 on the network? We have dialup - but would be nice if we could network to them instead - but not sure what is involved . Thanks for any advice!!!!

Hi Lynne,
No sure what you mean by networked. Two opt11c from different location network together or something else?
Regards
Ric

I beilieve that you can connect port 0 to the LAN and have your I.T . people assign you an IP address so that you can TELNET into the sys.

Placed on the LAN so we can access via IP address instead of dialup.

INCOMING ANI IN CDR RECORD OPT 11

An 11C Chassis system has a connector for a Medium Access Unit (MAU) on the back of the chassis in the bottom left-hand corner. For an Option 11C Cabinet system, there is a 50-pin connector just to the left of the retaining bar for an adaptor cable (NTDK27) to which you can attach a MAU.

As per previous postings in this forum, you need to be careful in your network configuration to protect this ethernet port from excessive traffic (broadcast storms for example). Have a look at the LAN design guidelines in the "Data Networking for Voice over IP" NTP.
