Wondering if anyone can help me. I just have a brand new T1 PRI installed and I have moved the regular dialing to the new route that I created. If I was to make a long distance call thru this new PRI T1 I have no problem. My office is setup to dial 5 digit extension to other branches of my office. When I move the CDP's RLB to the new route I get a message saying "Your call cannot be connected please try again". When I monitor the call in my D channel this is the message that I get. I have a feeling its something to do with the five digit dialing that is causing this problem because if you were to dial it normally it goes thru no problem. Only when you were to use the 5 digit dialing to other branches using this new PRI T1. Anyone have any idea what the error 127 internetworking unspecified means down there. Thanks a bunch.

The 5 digit I would be dialing would be 14556. Nowing having said this if you look at the D channel monitor it is saying that it is receiving all the digits totalling 11 digits including the 1 (19163334556). Why isn't it responding if I am sending all the correct numbers.

Urgent! Tool Menu

Ok it is working but now it's sending all of my 10 digit instead of just 5. It is suppose to send just a 5 digit for all internal users to other branches of the office and same goes for the other offices to me. But now after I changed it to NCHG it works but sending too many digits. Is there a way to make it so that it just send the five digits that I want?

Thanks again...

CDP converts the five digit number to a 10 digit number so it can dial on the public network.

It has to send 10 digits, it's an offnet call not internal.

Or are you using a tie line to your other offices?

You see the called number is Number Plan Private? This is what the carrier is choking on most likely. In your DMI 57 change the CTYP to NPA or INTL and you will be fine here.

If your far end PBX is only expecting 5, then the carrier was stripping the leading digits. This most likely was set up as a VPN with them. If that is true, then they do not have the VPN programmed against your new T1 correctly.

Yes, If I was to change it to NPA or NCHG it will work but it sends out the full 10 digits and thats not what we want. We want to send 5 digits to our other branch offices only because the our octel is not smart enough to know all 10 digits to automaticlly auto reply to a message back to the sender. We have the 5 digits that in our octel its programmed to autoreply and to understand that this 5 digit extension belong to this user. So that is the reason we need to send only 5 digits pravately via our branch offices.

Yes
Solved it. It was something to do with the New Local PRI T1 not sending all the 10 digits to the long distance PRI T1. All it was sending was just 5 digits. Had to call AT$T to send all digits over the long distance Pri. and now it works but to strip it down to 5 once it gets to the other end.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
