opt 81 rls 23. I have 2 2616s for emergency workers identical setup sitting side by side. both have the following key programed:
KEY 13 HOT D 4 5833

now both phones also have other dn's on the rest of the keys so if one emergency worker is talking to someone, the other emergency worker can press that dn key on his phone and join the conversation. Now Is it possible for one emergency worker to be on the hotline to the remote site and the other emergency worker to press a key on his 2616 and join the conversation?

I tried to put a dn key (of the number the hotline key calls: 5833) on the phones so when one worker would see the hotline busy he can push his 5833 dn button and join the conversation. but i get an error when i try to assign 5833 to a key. "the dn is of a different typpe than the input dn".

any ideas?

Can you print and post your TNBs of both phone so we can take a look. Please feel free to change names and any other private information to protect your institution.

Also, is 5833 on a Phantom TN? You cannot have a DN appearance on both a phantom and non-phantom NT

H - What is 5833 (500 set, phantom..??) or is it programmed as SCR/MCR on the original set - you have a conflict somewhere...

However - You could implement Override. See attached gif.

You could also use PRIVACY OVERIDE in the CLS of the sets put POA
POA= Privacy Overide Allowed

If they are sitting right next to each other, why can't the person on the call conference in the thrid party?
The privacy override feature should work too.
