Location: minnesota Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I have perhaps somewhat of a "Dumb" question, since I inherited maintenance on a option 11 that has about 240+ analog wall phones on it is there anything commandwise that I can Do to see if a Physical set is attached to given pair of wire's ??

Analog phones are pretty vanilla and the lines don't care if anything is plugged into them. They'll keep working nonetheless.

| Re: status? what you could do is verify all the analog lines that you can by going around writing down the analog extensions .Then disable the ones you could not find.Expect to get a few calls on this? like my modems not working ,or a fax line or a phone. Wait a couple of weeks then out the disabled ports that you never got a call on. | ||||||||

Location: minnesota Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Well, Since I can't do a status of them, I suspect I'll end up just tracking the Few "Mystery" ones Done through a Number of Phone Rooms, to see what if anything they are connected to, If they aren't I connected to anything I will just "Out" them and worst case as time permits, check the station wire in the ceilings with a Step ladder,Flashlight, a toner & wand

Take an Ohm meter and check for the ringing circuit of a 2500 or 2554 type set. The ringing circuit places resistance across the TN (around 1K resistance) whereas a TN without a phone connected would be completely open (The circuit isn't complete). Let me see if I can find that post.... Chas2002
