Anyone got the system/feature requirements handy for 3900 series phones? I took a very quick look at the 3900 NTP's and didn't see anything but feature code 88 and 89. Evidently that's not all that is required, I've got an 81c on rls 23.55 that has these feature codes in the package but, it will not allow me to build a 3900 set.

Thanks

Minimum release for M3900 sets is 24C (i.e. 25.08 ) or 25.xx.

As a subtle reminder, Nortel has announced that M2006/M2008/M2008HF/M2216/M2616 will be manufacture discontinued with a "last time order date" of October 2004. As Tim has just found out, the replacement sets (M3900) aren't supported on anything under Release 25. In other words, if you are running older releases of software you are going to be out-of-luck getting new sets to run on your system from Nortel in November 2004.

Beg to differ, but that last should be anything under Rls. 24 I belive.
(I'm fairly certain 24.30 was the version (or some such number) that I was running the first time I saw a 3900 phone in use)

We are both correct. The original M3900 (a.k.a. Phase 1) sets are supported on X11 24.24 and later. The Phase 2 and currently-shipping Phase 3 sets require X11 25.08 and later. So any new M3900 sets which are purchased from Nortel are only supported on Release 25 or later.

AAAAH YES! Forgot about those discusions of "you can flash load forward, but not back".
Good point fair sir.....

Really, too, if you HAVE to upgrade, why not go for the "latest and greatest"!

Thanks

I was able to build a set on a system that is rls 24.25 but, it looks like they'll have to upgrade this should be an interesting year 3 81c all on different releases (23.55, 24.25 25.30) and a 61 on rls 17.76
