One of my customers have found an Option 11 to replace the one that was damaged by fire. I have a backup file that is about one month's old.
My problem is that the damaged system was a Rls 21.35, and the one he can buy is a Rls 25.3. If I use the file I got to restore the new system, will it work, knowing that the SID is different, I'm not sure it will. I found somewhere in the NTP's that we can upload the file, but there will be no call processing before we do changes to LD 97. What type of changes can it be.

Thanks for your help

I haven't had a situation like that, but I would suggest to you that you step back and think which would be less of a headache.
"Downgrading" a back up, or starting from scratch? Granted the back up load is easier, but if you wind up haveing to chang 80% of it to get it to run correctly on the newer release, is it?

My thoughts: if you've got the time (and even if you can create the time by telling them "you want it done quickly or done correctly?) I'd go for a clean install.

Thanks PG.
The customer doesn't want to downgrade, he wants to take advantage of the improved features of the Rls 25.3.
So I think I'm gonna go the longway. I will do a completely new installation.

Under the "assume you know" category, you will need a new keycode from Nortel to activate the 25.30 feature set against your customer's current Site ID. If you use the old keycode/Site ID (which will also limit you to the feature set/ISM capacities) of the original owner, then you should complete a RTU Transfer and send to Nortel or you risk not getting service/support.
