Is there a way to setup remote notification with multiple target dn's, so that target 1 gets called and x number of minutes later target 2 gets called and x number of minutes later target 3 gets called?

I haven't found anything in the ntp's or in MerMail itself, but a user requested it so I thought I'd be nice and ask here.

thanks,
will

I use remote notification for my meridian mail. It allows me to set up three different time periods within a 24 hour period. I use it to notify pagers, cell phones or an extension within the system. It is in the individual mailbox where it says remote notification (you have to hit F8 and the screen will come up.)

I am not sure what release you are at but I'm at rls 13.13 and I can set up 3 different time periods and each time period can be set up with 3 targets, so yes you can do what was asked but I'm not sure what rls you need to be at to make it work.

The 3 targets can also be 3 different devices e.g phone, cell, pager etc.

Hope this helps.

The time periods being the key word here....

If your trying to set it so those periods OVERLAP, then PP is correct....Only one target PER TIME PERIOD.

HOWEVER, you can have 3 time periods with three different target numbers:
1) Time period 3am-4:59am Target A
2) Time period 5am-6:59am Target B
3) Time period 7am-8:59am Target C

Notice the time periods are 1 minute off from each other, and not 3-5 then 5-7...

To add further you could set this up

Time 1 3am to 5am to TargetA,TargetB,TargetC
Time 2 5:01am to 6am to TargetA,TargetB,TargetC
Time 3 6:01am to 7am to TargetA,TargetB,TargetC

So you can see that you can have 3 different time frames and 9 different Targets.

Oops... I completely forgot about posting this. Sorry about that.

Actually, what the user wants to do is send a page to target DN #1, wait 5 minutes and page target DN#2, and then target DN#3. MerMail gives you 3 schedules -- Business Days, Non-Business Days, and Temporary. Within each of the schedules, 3 time periods can be defined. Within each of those time periods, 3 target DN's can be defined. But I've never seen any setting that would allow you to page/call a one DN, wait a specified number of minutes, and then page/call another DN. That's what this user was asking about. Normally, I would've just said that it can't be done, but my manager (very knowledgeable about MerMail) says that he's done something similar in the past but couldn't remember what he did.

thanks,
will

Why not set it up like this but with 5 minute difference whithin the same hour?

I don't understand.

With this example, if a call comes in at say 4:00 and the caller leaves a message, target a will be notified. I get that. I don't see how target b and c will get staggered notifications for that same new message as 4:00 is not within those notification windows.
1) Time period 3am-4:59am Target A
2) Time period 5am-6:59am Target B
3) Time period 7am-8:59am Target C

The user was asking about a scenario like the following:

Call comes in, caller leaves mail.
Target A is notified.
5 minute wait.
Target B is notified.
5 minute wait
Target C is notified.

thanks,
will
