Anybody know of a method to show that a message is waiting in a mailbox without using a telephone. We're looking afor an ad-hoc way for our NOC center to see that there are messages waiting but without using a telephone because they need a bigger indicator. We also don't want to use the desktop software that's available. I think they're just looking for a big light. Off the wall -- but if any ideaas, let me know.

IP MAX Tape Drive has tape stuck.....
They make message waiting Indicators .I installed one on an analog line and it mounted to a wall .It was used for some It help desk people to know when there was a message in voice mail.Don't remember who made it tho.

This would be the simplest, most cost effective way to accomplish what you want.

One that I've seen used quite alot, set up the way sheerhunk says, is called a "beehive" lamp (due to its resemblance to a beehive). Suttle makes one (Model SE-15) with different colored lenses. Other manufacturers have variations on the same thing and pretty much any electrical supply house should have them.

Its real easy just build theanalog set DN to match the message waiting indicator DN in voicemail set the cls to mwa lpa

If you are using a phone that already has a message waiting light, open the phone and connect the new light to the msg waiting light's wires on the phone. Beehive will send you instructions as well with any order.

Algo Solutions (http://www.algosolutions.com/home.php) also has two versions of visual message waiting indicator - a small lamp and a strobe lamp. They use a box which taps onto the line between the Meridian 1 and a digital set to pick up the message waiting indication.
