Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | The Maint set is able to draw dial tone on other routes and access other routes. The RAN is not allowing that to happen. I think the issue is something with the RAN. We have a 6 port Interalia, MMU2 unit that terminates on a BIX. From the description of the onsite person the wiring from the BIX to the TN BIX is correct. With the use of a multimeter we can see fluctuation of signal on all TN's associated with that port on the Interalia. Yet, something isn't right. From the Interalia hand set the recording plays. It does not play to the queue or the Maint set. LD 36 RAN c r always returns the TRK041 for this route. Not being onsite and with limited hands-on assistance from the site, what should I do now?

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Okay, the onsite person was able to trace the cables to their physical locations and determine that signal was passing.... I then had them replace the XUT in the option 11C. All connections were verified and we did a LD 36 RAN 0 10. The same error came back, TRK041 0 10. The NTP says, "The RAN, MUS, or AWR device specified for customer 0 and route 10 is not operable. I think that a call to Interalia is needed. The recording plays out the hand set. You can even pick up the recording on the toner wand playing through the cables. Anyone disagree with this next step? rlc

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Here is the FINAL ANSWER At the time of installation (1989) the installer wired the TN to the Interalia punch block wrong. There was never a ground wire attached nor was the CP(c) wired correctly. Once the ground was added and the jumper moved to the correct pair for the CP(c) the device started to talk to the PBX. Wiring.... who knew that it was so important. Don't you just love getting a Grandfather switch added to your network? Thank you so much and for those that are interested, Steve at Interalia technical support is a wealth of information for troubleshooting. He was absolutely wonderful. rlc
