Does anyone out there know how to or where to find out how to crack the lvl1/lvl2 passwords on a M1? I know you can get them from PDT but how do you get into PDT? I have this person that has a pbx and doesn't remember the passwords. I know I would normaly call nortel about it, but nortel wont support this customer (a competitor). They want thier current configuration or else I would of just started over. It's an Option 11c running 25.40. Any ideas?

I will have to echo keith's admonition. We do not support cracking or phreaking on this site. You will not find any information for breaking into systems here. Those who know the lore of PDT are sworn to keep the secrets until their deaths... and they have the cyanide pills to prove it!

I think that SD meant to say "We do NOT support cracking on this site."

(Must be that lake effect snow off Lake Huron impairing his thinking).

Yes, what a typo!!! (You'll note that I fixed it)

I think that you're right. I believe that the lake effect is getting to me. You can only stand so much horizontal blizzards before your mind begins to feel the strain. (I think that will be my excuse from now on.)

Courtesy Down Meridian Mail?

Oh that's fine. I don't condone cracking/phreaking generaly but if it's in a Legal Application I'm all for it. I'll just have to try and contact some other companies and see if they know this arcane procedure.

On more than one occasion I have seen "PDT in Progress..." in my termnial window. What does PDT stand for? Does this imply someone is trying to crack my PBX? Any idea on what the message means?

Thanks,

No idea what is stands for.

Did you have Nortel or a tech support group in there doing work? If not I would be a little concerned that someone was poking around. I have noticed that our TAC and some of the NT people tend to be a little sloppy about exiting the PDT when they're done.

I know that to get out of it you have to type exit in lowcase... it's confused more than one person around here who likes to program with the caps lock on.

Don't understand why Nortel won't support them. If they are a paying customer, it should make no diff to them. If they won't, maybe there is someone who will offer to go into your PDT for a fee and rel the passwords to you. I have seen it done, but can't remember all the prompts.

TAPI 3.0 Issue

I don't understand it either. But this customer is a MAJOR competitor on all aspects of Nortel's products.

Panchanka : I know the OTM can use PDT, maybe it's OTM Logging in and Out. Not sure how OTM uses PDT but I know that it does somehow.
