Need help with 61C and 2317 phones regarding multiple DN's - PBX Info :: Your Free PBX, PABX and Telephone Information Resource

Here is the situation- Boss has 2317 phone...ext 24xx and 34xx on keys 0 and 1

He wants another ext on keys 6 and 7...so I put ext 241x and 341x on keys 6 and 7.

Now when phone rings on ext 241x(key 6) he wants to be able to answer the phone without having to press key 6 ...is this possible?

Also we have caller id but the only way he can see who is calling on key 6 is to press display key and then key 6 Is there a way around this?

I believe we are on the latest release.

Ideas??

Firstly welcome to the board!!

Now to your issue, the big problem is that the 2317 sets are manufacture discontinued so the follow ing may or may work for you.

I'd try to change the CLS to TDD (for display issue {there is a caveat in the NTP's that this may or may not work}) and IRA for Incoming Ringing line Preference Allowed.

Thanks for the speedy reply Jack!

By putting TDD in my CLS on my line it worked! I was able to see a coworker calling me on that ext!

My Nextria1 tech suggested to try putting IRA in which I did how ever when I pick up the receiver it still will not pick up that line unless I press the key...any ideas arounc this issue

OR

Is this an issue with the 2317's ? Is there another phone that this would work on?

you also will have to change LPK to 7 and keep IRA in class of service

Since the TDD worked so well, I plan on putting this on all of our phones...is there a way to do this as a mass rollout or do I need to visit every TN ?

Carefull on the TDD, it is great when you short hunt up your key strip however some users get upset when there supervisors can see who is calling their personal extentions because there supervisor have their DN on their phone also

yeah I can see that happening however I guess anyone who has an extension their phone also has a display key. The TDD just elimates the step of having to press the display key 1st correct?
