Name instead of DN on 390x keys - PBX Info :: Your Free PBX, PABX and Telephone Information Resource

I read somewhere on the net that you can have the call party name display next to the key instead of the DN on the new 390x sets. The page did not say how. Does anyone know if this is possible? For example, on my 3904 set KEY 00 is set to SCR 2910. It would be nice if I could have the key on my 3904 say 'Telephone Srv.' instead of 2910.

I have a 3904 phone and if go to options then feature key label.I can change the name on any key besides my key 0

This is infact the case...and the reason...this is "Feature Key" labeling, not PRIMARY key labeling....

The primary key is that, primary, not a feature key like the others ....(think of it like this...you can make ANY type of key out of ALL the others, but the primary MUST be a DN)

That is correct. Plus keep in mind, it can only be 10 digits long, so you'd have to abreviate telephone srv to something like phone srv, or tele srv, or phone rm

All of my keys (except the soft keys below the screen) are set to SCRs and SCNs. Therefore they are also DN keys. Will I be unable to change them as well?

no, you can change all of the keys except for the prime DN key..... key 00
