Hi All, I am trying to configure a CDR port by using one of my avail TTY ports located on a 4 port paddle board. My switch is a Nortel Opt 61c running release 25.40. I've changed the adan data to user CTY and in the routes that I want to track, I've changed the rdb CDR to yes. Can anyone shed some more light as to what else I may be missing. I connected an VT520 terminal to the tty port to check for communications and I am receiving some data but not what I was expecting. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Tom

Do you have the TTY port assigned in the CDR datablock in the customer datablock? LD 21 to print, type CDR LD 15 to change item is PORT.

I forget when but at some point changes to the CDR in either the RDB or the CDB will require an INI (I think) in order to take effect. You will get an SCH code indicating this when it happens.

Everything else sounds ok, what data are you getting and what do you expect to get? There are some other prompts below the CDR prompt in the RDB and CDB that will effect how and when it comes out.

setting up CDR

When the Meridian receives CDR data from either the Trunks or
Telephones, it needs to know where to send it. You can configure
more than one CDR output, this example is for just one.
You also need to let the Meridian know what format of data you require.

AXID yes Provide TN if the call is from a multiple apperance DN
TRCR yes Provide carriage return after each CDR record output
CDPR yes CDP option inserts ACOD before DSC or TSC
ECDR no Print end-to-end signalling digits in the CDR records
OTCR yes CDR provided is based on originally dialled trunk route
PORT 2 Port to send CDR data to. This must be of type CTY.
PORT Add more CDR output ports if you wish.
CNI dgts Calling Number Identification DGTS, CLID or NONE
CHLN 0 Charge Account number length (0-23)
FCAF no Forced Charge account active (yes/no)
CHMN 2 Only given if FCAF=yes.
FCNC 0 Only given if FCAF=yes.

You've now configured the TTY and the CDB. There are a few
more changes in the PARM section of the CFN.

you need to tell the pbx where to send the data. which tty port are you using? you need to go to that tty port and enable it for cdr.

Thank You for your detailed info on the CDR configuration. You've been a huge help. Will I need to INI the switch to have these CDR changes take affect?

I think the only time an INI is needed is when you get a SCH2017 after making the programming changes.
