Does anyone know how to turn on the XPDN prompt in LD49 for 8 digit IDC conversion. This is for the "Incoming Digit Conversion Enhancement". When I create a new IDC table, the prompt doesn't appear. I have the necessary PKGs 113 & 49. The switch is an Opt61c, Rls25.40b.

THE ONLY IMPLEMENTATION FOR THIS IS IN NETWORKING FEATURES AND SERVICES (553-2901-301)

under what feature. I find plenty of references to it in the Networking NTPs, but only against things like EuroISDN & then only to state that the features available. I see anywhere where it actually shows how to implement it.

Country:
VoIP, Nortel or Cisco?

I've never "personally" added this feature and I don't know if it will cause problems..

I think it's related the your DNXP package and as far as I know it's used to Convert DNIS to Auxillary processors (or as an AML link to an ACD system) and it's used the the UK (Europe Area).

Take a look at your DNXP (Directory Number Expansion) NTP: 553-3001-305

That's pretty close. Since I 1st posted, I changed LDN0 from a 4 digit to a 7 digit number. As a consequence, the IDC table will now look at the trailing 7 digits, but I still can't figure out how to utilise the IDC expansion feature which allows 8 digits.

LD 117 INV, IDU feature, and LD 30 LOOP do not match????

I believe on later software the XPDN prompt is not used and you should be
able to put any digits you want into the IDGT prompt.

Well, I can enter 8 digits at the IDGT prompt, but translation only happens on the leading 7 digits.

As suggested by JAY2003 on the Tech Tips forum, in the route

DNIS = YES
NDGT = 8

no IDCs 8 digits, go figure, I thought DNIS was for sending information over a link to apps like Symposium

RE:

yes, I'm fully aware DNIS = Dialed Number Information Service

but I thought the emphasis was on "information" which is forwarded to the likes of Symposium so that the likes of Symposium can do thinks like displayed information etc with it. I don't understand how DNIS affects IDC, which it obviously does.
