I just got a new MAT system up and running but ran into a small issue which I hope is a simple fix that you guys can help me with. I did a retrevial of the CPND and Station Admin and all that data got filled in fine. However when I go to open a phone in CPND I get “no CPND configuration record exists for this customer” and when I access a phone in Station Admin to add a extension to a phone I get “Error: Directory Number failed validation: DN 555 not in Numbering Plan.” When I know that the DN is a valid DN.

Do I need to do a reconcile in order to fix this problem? Or am I just missing a step?

MAT Version 6.53
OPT 51c rls 24, issue 25

Thanks!

J - It's hard to say what happened...

CPND -

It could be that the system didn't validate properly,
or
that the CPND Data block didn't retrieve or wasn't configured properly,
What do you see when you open the CPND Adminstration window?

DN -

You can try this - From the Navigator Window, in the Numbering Plans tab, you need to insert a number range that includes all of your PBX system’s extensions.

when I open the CPND window, I see the list of all the names, DN’s, locations, synch status of the phones and users that we have, just like when it was working on the old system. only difference is when I go to access one of the records (if I wanted to change my name for instance) I double click me, and I get the error message I posted above.
And I don’t see anything relating to Numbering Plans tab from the main navigator window…
Thanks for the help

Never fear … Kyle is Hear!

Actually you’re experiencing an all too common configuration issue.

CPND – Open up CPND, click on the top menu where it says view, and select CPND (Not CPND Name). The page should be blank. Do a Sync –> Retrieve –> Specify –> Customer 0. This will pull back the CPND template or Configuration thus solving that problem.

Station Admin – You need to do one of two things. Either fill in your numbering plan for this system. You can find that on the Systems Properties Page, Customer Tab, Select Customer 0 and click Properties. The new page will have a Numbering Plan tab … fill in the appropriate information. Or even easier is to Open Station Admin, Click on Options –> Mode. In the new Window under Validation take off the check mark by Numbering Plan. This will stop MAT from checking the DN’s against the Numbering Plan we talked about earlier.

The biggest thing to remember when using MAT or OTM is that they are nothing more then quasi-intelligent Scripting Engines when using Station Admin or CPND. It only knows what you tell it about your system. That and ALWAYS use Update System Data when building a new system, or after upgrading your PBX.

Oh and please tell me you have MAT installed on a Windows NT machine … That and you really need to run 6.67.07 with both update disks applied, if possible. Life is so much more pleasant when you do all this. Trust me!

thanks for the help Machivelli and Chas. i'm running it on win98 with a few patches installed . We are moving to V/IP in the next 12-14months so they didn't want to invest to much time or resources into getting this back up and running (hench of lack of training).

Thanks again.
