Can anyone provide any kind of information regarding implementation of activity codes in Symposium Express? We tried to implement activity codes in 2002 only to have the symposium server crash due to running out of disk space. Does anyone know where symposium stores the data files for reports, etc? Any information or insight anyone can provide will be much appreciated. Thanks so very much and Happy New Years!

Im not sure about express, but in the full sccs version it is under reporting. You can set the maximum number records, or days that you wish in each category.

I have the full SCCS, but can offer some tips on saving space in the Express.

1. In your Server Configuration, limit the Character lenght of your Activity codes to 4 or the required amount (it may be set at 32)
2. Next and this should really help - take a look at your Historical Storage configuration..
2a. Specifically the HistoricalStatDuration - this setting shows how long the stats are stored before being written over. I think the Express is predefined as 2 for the MonthsofMonthly setting.
3. Turn off any information that you don't need to collect in the HistoricalStatCollection. Example - if you're not using IVR, then you can turn those stats off...

Good Luck
Chas

Chrisme, I have multiple locations with Express. There is no limit to length on the reports. One of my sites uses, 00, 0111, 4444, 3689, and so on. what other questions do you have?

thor_axx thanks - Here's a little history... we tried to implement activity codes in 2000. After having five users test activity codes for about 2 1/2 weeks the server crashed. Symposium server had to be rebuilt. The error message received was "out of disk space".

We'd really like to implement activity codes across the board, but as you can guess we're a little afraid to do so. Any information or advise you can give will be very much appreciated. We don't know where to look for the codes being stored - I can pull the report - but we want to ensure we have enough disk space, etc.

The area I was referring to is the "Configuration Data", specifically I was viewing the Data Dictionary, Section C of the "Reports and Displays Guide" of the express server - I may be in the wrong area...

Adding Activitiy Codes would not cause the server to crash. It's just another report line CDN or Agent Activity that pulls info on the specific time that you request it. What version is it? The only other thing that neess to be doen it to verify that Activity Code button is on the agents phone.
