Has anyone ever experienced a problem with an Alaska location not being able to dial in to a toll free 800 number? Our conference call bridge uses an 800 number and a party from Alaska told us that she could not get access.

Sorry..it's friday, had to be a smart arse.

Yes...I've seen this before...often times its one of several problems:

1) The carrier out of the Alaska exchange is not allowing the 800 number access due to LD.
2) The 800 number carrier does not recognize the Alaska exchange.
3) (and probabable) the 800 or LD carrier does not recognize the 800 number as being able to be dialed from the Alaska exchange primarily because it's carried accross (at one point) a Canadian and/or other Int'l carrier.

Quite often, Canadian customers can't call US based 800 and get a messages stating "This number is not accessible from your location".

Are they getting a message like this? Is there another 800 or 888 number they can call?
