New Years Goals/Resolutions?

I recall a posting in the old website about people encounternig a problem where a 3904 will start a contniuous ring....no cadance, just continuous ring. I don't recall ever seeing a solution. Did anyone ever figure out why? I'm starting to wonder if it is related to the AUDIT utility.

I would
1) DISU, ENLU
2) Try re-punching down the wires, to rule out a short.
3) Then replace the instrument. (hardware failure could be it)

What is the release of the phone?
good luck.

I have not had this happen on digital sets. But, the same thing has happened on several analog circuits for me. Opt 11c, 25.30

CONFIG. OPERATOR CONSOLE

I have currently opened a ticket with ETAS(for the 2nd time) on a problem similar to this. (81C, 25.40, Optivity, Mini Remote Carrier, M3904s) One of our departments has about 15 M3904 sets on one DLC. The other DLC suports a mix of M3900 sets in another department which never have a problem. Each person in the department with the 15 M3904s has their own personal DN on key zero and keys one through four are identical SCR DNs on all sets. They also belong to their own DIG on key five of each set. Occasionally when they are on an active call and another call rings in the set becomes 'stuck' in a buzzing state. To stop it either they phone must be DISU/ENLU, line cord unplugged and reconnected, or if they hang up wait a sec then pick up and dial somewhere. The first ticket was open for about a month and we replaced phones, DLCs, Mini Remote Cards(local & remote), etc. I even traced the sets in ringing states and even had ETAS in the switch when it was occuring. They had me out and rebuild the sets and this seemed to slow the problem down but it came back.

call pilot backup

I have two 3904 instruments while all the rest (about 30) are of type 3903. The problem only happens to the 3904 instruments and not the rest. Given that the problem isn't unique to either 3904, I have to assume it isn't hardware related. The same for the wiring. Had only one instrument had the problem, I'd concentrate on this.

About DISU/ENLU......I'm lost. So far, it looks like the DIS and ENL mean DISable and ENable. I haven't figure out the U????

I had this happen to one of my sets - I just unplugged & plugged back in the set and it stopped. It was also a M3904, and to my knowledge it's the only set that has done it, although with the amount we have here I can't be sure!!

DTA300

Spent the evening playing on the company computer. About 12:30 am, I went by botth 3904 phones and both were ringing. I'm starting to suspect that the problem is related to some of the background activities like the auditing. Seems odd that the problme should start just after midnight.
