I use Procomm Plus. I think that seems to be the norm. But hyperterm does work in most applications.

Are you using 9600 8 none and 1?

Have you checked the switch modem?

Grrrr @ OTM

My screen is totally blank also until I type in my password to access the modem. I usually have to hit enter a few times after I enter the password before I see the other username and password.

I use Hummingbird only because we had many licenses sitting around.

Procomm is by far the most popular, and in my opinion one of the best. HyperTerm is to limited in what it can do.

By Switch modem John is talking about the modem you have hooked up to the PBX. Check to make sure it configured properly to receive calls and such. And if you're using a SEB modem or the like, you won't see anything until you enter your password. Part of the security package that goes with it. Otherwise if your hitting the PBX directly hitting the enter key a few times should bring up an OVL111.

Do you do implementation & need an indexing program?

After the modem in the switch answers, hit enter. It will then ask for a login ID and then password. If you do not have either one call your vendor and they should provide that information for you. This board in most cases will not provide any of that information although we may all know what it is and how it works.

Good luck,
John

if u are using what verizon is using u are probably using a seb or site event buffer. these are designed to not put anything on the screen until u enter the correct password. in effect adding security. after all if know what u are hacking thats half the battle. dont be frustrated this is the way it is designed to work. after entering the correct pwd u will get a menue that u will need to enter the correct choice to go to the pbx then u will recieve a prompt like u were sitting at the actual terminal. if u donot know your seb password u will need to contact your vendor
