Still a newbie to the Option 11C and have a hot item here I have no idea in how to do. The bottom line is my section wants the means of dialing "911" without first dialing "99" for an outside line in order to dial 911 Emergency. Programming a phone for speed dialing isn't what is being tasked. So if there is a way to cofigure the Option 11C where someone simply dials "911" I would be greatly obliged.

Must be the cold..

I think this may be done in LD 90 as a SPN, Speacial Number Translation. I would let some of the PBX ZEN's have a crack at this one.

Thanks, John. I'll give it a try. I was thinkin' maybe it could be configured as a Speed Dial List in LD 18 but learned that wouldn't do it.

Disabling 3rd Cabinet on Opt11C

In ld 90 - you build it as 11 and then you assign it to a RLI that has a DMI that will insert a 9.

There is another way also if you have the features. LD 22 and print PKG. If you have if you have ESA package 329 you can build it in LD 24 - ESA.

let us know if you need more specifics

Dialing 911

R, has the answer - although you stated "without 99" being dialed. If 99 is in fact your AC1 then your RLB & DGT's will need to reflect this.

If you need more specifics post back.

I also have a cool way to avoid phantom - user dial 9 11123456789 instead of 9 011123456789 -- calls to the 911 center if anyone is interested.

Need more specifics, Guys. I have very little experience with the switch all together but expected to be the guru. Figures. So the steps given would have be given in layman's terms. In other words, treat me like an idiot when walkin' me through this thing. >LOL< I printed off your replies and will give it a shot with what I know but will return shortly to see your replies.

Thanks, Guys....

OK SGT.,

Either drop me an e-mail or meet in the Chat room & we can go step for step.

I DON"T MESS with E-911 via posts, especially with folks who admit to being concerned.

Not hard to set up, but truly a LIFE OR DEATH thing!!

Jack- I'm interested. It's not a big problem but every once in a while someone dials 9-1, forgets they've already dialed the 1, and then dials 1-NPA-NXX-YYYY. Then they hang up on the 911 operator and the cops show up.

Actually, I just remembered that since I changed my SPN 11 to FLEN 2 and 911 to FLEN 3, there haven't been any accidental 911 dialings.

SCH0011 - TN in DNBLOCK fails TNTRANS??

Be careful folks. There are laws comming out (CHICAGO for one) that require you to translate 911 as well as 9-911 on your switch. Infact in order to properly set up ESA, you need to translate 911 without AC1. See my FAQ that deals with the local 911 issue:
