Looking for the Best Small Office System

In LD 17, you'll need to change your common equipment CEQU settings. When you get to the DLOP prompt, enter the loop# for the PRI in question. Enter past the MODE prompt and at LCMT, type B8S. You can check the setting first by going to LD 22 and doing a REQ PRT, TYPE CEQU. If LCMT is already set to B8S, you'll probably want to check your PRI card and/or CSU settings and also open a ticket with your carrier to verify that your T-1 is B8ZS. Sometimes carriers do change that by mistake.

How to Configure PRI to be B8ZF

Hypothetically, depending on the make, your CSU could have the capability to terminate from Telco as B8ZS but present the T1 to your PBX as AMI. I've seen that as option on some units - just can't remember which ones, or if it was only on units that were doing drop/insert.

So, perhaps your CSUs got changed?

CISCO AVVID solution and Option 61C

To change T1 to ami from b8zs - you would need to remove all trunks, delete the dchannel and then make the change. - Not likely the problem is in PBX.

You can see the current PBX setup each time you stat the T1 loop - it should show ESF/B8S/

Yep, the PBX is

PRI* TRK LOOP 2 - DSBL
FFMT/LCMT/YALMT: ESF/B8Z/FDL

....I think the problem is from the Telco even though they do not admit :lsvader:

Thanks guys

Print TTY Info???

Funny story, mostly on topic.

Few years back, I was installing a T1 on an NEC2400 at a bank. The telco meet was scheduled for 1300, so I spend the morning hooking everything up. As soon as I plug the span into the switch, I get tons of bi-polar violations. I check the telco order, confirm that the span was ordered as AMI, and head to lunch.

When I get back, I start talking to the guy at the test board. I tell him I think his circuit is incorrectly set for B8ZS (which would explain all the bi-polars. B8ZS substitutes two consecutive BPVs for every 8 zeros in a row).

He harrumpfs, complains about interconnect techs not knowing what we’re doing, and tells me I’m wrong. We spend the next hour troubleshooting the span, and get nowhere. We double check the circuit ID, and all the normal stuff. He is really unhappy, because it is an old CO, and he has to pull a card and change switch settings every time we want to change something.

I am sitting across from the smartjack, when I suddenly realize that the lights never change state when he’s pulling the card out in the CO to change the settings. I point out to him that the lights have never gone out the whole time we’ve been testing. He says, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Then about 30 seconds later the light does go out. About 30 seconds after that it comes back on, and miraculously, problem fixed, it is now AMI. He never admits to a thing.

I feel sorry for the poor sap across town, going, “gee boss, I don’t know what’s wrong. It goes down, comes up but with errors, goes down, comes back up clean, over and over again for the last hour.”

So I guess what I'm saying is that telco probably changed your span- this is why I save old orders.
