I recall seeing a reference to using RLOGIN utility to gain access to an 11c from a foreign computer. I can't remember where I saw this reference. Is it true? Can I use the RLOGIN from my local computer to perform maintenance in my 11c?

Yes, you can rlogin to the Opt11 though I don't think it is officially supported by Nortel except via MAT/OTM and maybe some other admin utilities like Phoneware.
We use it all the time though with no problems.
For starters
You have to setup the IP info on the switch per the OTM manuals (another good resource is http://www.russellweb.co.uk/nortel/index1.asp).
Then you have to have an rlogin (NOT telnet) program or unix machine that can access the ELAN while keeping the ELAN isolated from the rest of your network.

Classifieds I have added a few items inthe Nortel area.

Thanks, I'll have to give it a try. The Nortel is setup with IP and I have an X-Windows emulator that is supposed to support RLOGIN. I also have a VMS system that does X-Windows. It might support RLOGIN but I need to check this out.
