A user needs to transfer calls to our suburban office. They have a separate switch, but we are set up to have 4-digit dialing, where we can reach anyone there just by dialing their extension. When this particular user tries to transfer a call from within the office to our suburban office, there's no problem. But if she has an outside call to transfer, the system will not allow her to. I am able to do this and I've copied my programming on her phone, but still no luck. What am I missing? Also, I can not get the programming to take HTA. We have a 61C. Here is the problem user's programming:

It turned out to be in the CLS. I needed FTTU instead of FTTC.

Thanks!

Hey Wildman,

I would like to setup a similar quick dial between two sites. 1 site has a option 61C and the other an option 11. How do I go about doing this?

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Do you have tie trunks between the two locations or are they standalone switches?

No matt

Jack,

These are stand alone switches. I want to be able to quick dial between these locations.

Thanks,
Dave

D,

Depending on your programming abilities there are a couple ways to go about this.

1) Poor man's network = System Speed Dial.

Let's say site A's numbers are (123) 456-1000 through (123) 456-1999.

Let's say site B's numbers are (222) 789-2000 through (222) 789-2999.

This of course presumes that site A & B use DID service.

So from site A you program a system speed dial (let's say entry 01) as 01+9(presume 9 is your AC1)+1(presume you use 1 plus dialing)+222+789.

When you want to call site B ext 2500 you would press Sys speed button, or dial FFC, and enter 012500. System would dial 912227892500.

Do the same from site B except entry would be 01+9+1+123+456.

Not pretty but will work.

2) Build up CDP in both switches.

So in site A you would have a DMI table that would be set up as DEL 0 INST 1123456.

This DMI would be refferenced by a RLB/RLI that contains which ever set of trunks used to connect to site B.

You then build a DSC entry of 2 pointed at the RLB/RLI listed above.

So to call site B extension 2500, you simply dial 2500 and system dials 12227892500.

Do the same in site a except your DSC would be 1.

This is a simplified version of this works, if you need additional deatils post back.

Your DMI in site A INST would be 1222789.

Jack,

Thanks for this info..this goes a little beyond my programming abilities. We currently have this setup between us and another site, however I'm not sure how this was done because our vendor put this in place for us.
We use 8 to get an outside line for LD. What i'd like to see is same as we have it setup for the other site.

Site A can dial 8+7 digit extension and not have ot worry about the 1+AC.

I'm going to look at our RLB/RBI info for the others one now.

Thanks,

Do you use 9 for local calls then?
